ABOUT THE (LCFL) LABELLE COMMUNITY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Patty LabelleThe La Belle Community Football League (LCFL) is one of the newest and most competitive minor league football organizations in America. The LCFL provides skilled football players a forum to display and refine their skills as they make an attempt to reach a professional level of the sport. Made up of the some of the best teams and talent on the West Coast, the South, and the East Coast, the LCFL has attracted the attention of several professional leagues and has successfully graduated several players to professional teams throughout the U.S. In 2005, the LCFL Western Conference was born, and the league experienced its first ever East vs West Coast Championship game (LaBelle Bowl). This game showcased the Long Beach Lions representing the West, while the East Coast came with a combination of players from teams on the East Coast. The game was played at historic Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach California. The East Coast walked away with a hard fought and narrow victory, 10-9. In 2006, the LCFL National Champion shifted to the West Coast as the Inglewood Blackhawks defeated the Philadelphia Panthers by the score of 20-14.

The LCFL was established in 2003 by Mr. Damascene Pierre Paul. Mr. Paul originally started the league in the Philadelphia, PA area to give young men the opportunity to keep playing the game they love. Legendary entertainer and philanthropist Ms. Patti LaBelle endorses the league by lending her name and likeness which she supports by being visibly involved in the interactions with the league. Other league supporters include former NFL football player and NBC anchor Maurice Spencer, Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens, Adalius Thomas of the New England Patriots, Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles, Mark Clayton of the Baltimore Ravens, and former Super Bowl champion, Az Hakim. These NFL greats support the LCFL, and are currently working together to assist with the creation of a minor league community football system that is nationally recognized. With Philadelphia as the Mecca, the LCFL, in just 6 short years, has established a Western Conference in Southern California, a Southern Conference with Six (6) teams in the heart of the South, and has rejuvenated the Eastern Conference, on the East Coast. The LCFL hopes to become a nationwide organization that will help empower its players, and give positive representation to their communities. The LCFL will slowly expand and establish additional regions. States that have shown great interest are Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Texas.

The LCFL currently has a total of 32 teams nationwide, with 20 representing the West Coast. Those numbers look to increase in the near future with interest from the aforementioned states as well as leagues from across the United States. The recruitment goals of the LCFL emphasize "quality over quantity", and it is stated publicly, that the LCFL is not for everyone. The LCFL is not only endorsed by current NFL players, but has been prominently sponsored by some of the best known companies in America. The Courtyard Marriott LAX has taken a vested interest in the LCFL. Bring It Hard Energy Drink and American Airlines have recently added great discounts and ammenities which have offset many of the cost of the league. We look for a strong healthy relationship with them in the coming years, and to cultivate many other quality supporters.
