Q&A: Why am i struggling so much at the batting cage?

Question by Sxe757azn: Why am i struggling so much at the batting cage?
I started to practice baseball with my friends at the batting cage and at the park. I’ve gotten good at catching and throwing but there is a bad part. Whenever we go to the batting cage, i struggle. I always miss, or my ball goes to the side net (basically like a foul.) What can i do to get better at batting?

My lady-friend struggled in the batting cage too, but then I used stronger duct tape.

you should practice you swing off a tee and then move to soft toss.
Make sure you are taking the bat straight to the ball. Meaning take the nob of your bat straight to the ball
You are probably fouling them off because your swing is tardy so to speak.
Get you stride out of the way and get started sooner.
    Take the opposite field approach.
Way too often hitters get pull happy.
Turn on the inside pitch but work on taking the outside strike and pitch down the middle to the right side or up the middle.. if you are right handed.
watch this youtube of evan longoria.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcW74LwMm3w
he has a great swing. notice how short and quick his swing is. he takes his hands right to the ball. there is no loop.
If you want to be a great hitter thats what you need to do.
But start step by step like off a tee and build from there

Not everyone is good at everything. I’m sure you have some strengths, although I’m hard pressed to think of one.
